FAQ
Medication
Our providers prescribe a range of FDA-approved medications as part of our personalized weight loss programs, tailored to your individual needs and goals. Our offerings include phentermine, available for dispensing in our clinic, along with other FDA-approved medications that work in various ways to support your weight management journey. We’ll collaborate with you to determine the most suitable medication based on your medical history, preferences, and budget. It’s important to note that insurance coverage may vary for these medications, but our team is dedicated to helping you navigate these options. Your safety and well-being are our priorities, and all prescribed medications are administered under professional guidance. For specific questions about medications, potential side effects, or insurance coverage, please reach out to our team for comprehensive support throughout your weight loss journey
No. Many weight loss medications are category X and risks outweigh potential benefits. It is unknown if medications are excreted in breast milk, so it should not be taken if nursing. Injections will not be offered either for patients who are pregnant or nursing.
The exact amount of weight loss is variable based on medication prescribed, lifestyle modifications including diet and exercise, initial BMI, certain medical conditions, and other medications you may be taking. Though the medication will assist with weight loss, lifestyle changes are necessary to maximize and maintain weight loss.
We see a wide range of medical conditions including the ones listed above. Each patient is required to meet with licensed medical provider as part of the initial consultation and on an as needed basis to review your unique medical history including any conditions and current medications you may be taking. Please note that NWLC is not responsible for management of chronic diseases. Please see your PCP for management of these conditions.
Appointments/Policies
A referral is not needed to become a patient.
The first visit usually lasts about 45-60 minutes during which time all required testing will be conducted followed by the consultation with our board certified provider. Follow up appointments for medication refills are about 15 minutes, and visits for injections are about 5 minutes.
We strongly advocate for consistent patient visits as they yield the most enduring results in your weight management journey. To ensure the best outcomes, we do mandate monthly office visits, which include a nominal office visit fee, for prescription renewal. During these visits, you will have a 20-minute session with our healthcare provider for a comprehensive discussion of your health status, personalized nutrition counseling, behavior modification strategies, and an evaluation of your progress toward your goals. It’s important to note that all phentermine prescriptions require an in-person visit for each refill, with no exceptions. Additionally, we highly recommend optional weekly visits for B-12 injections or bi-weekly visits for the Lipo-B injection to complement your weight management plan.
Unfortunately, you can only receive one 30-day prescription per month.
Initial patients are required to make an appointment. It is recommended to make an appointment for a follow-up visit, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome for medication refills and injections. Please note that scheduled appointments will take priority over walk-ins.
Our services are provided on a month-to-month basis. There is no contract to sign. We are here to help you. You are welcome to come in and learn more about our services. If you would like to proceed with the program, we will be glad to help. If you are offered a treatment plan and choose not to follow the program, there is a $45.00 fee for the medical consultation and no other obligations are required.
We ask that patients are on-time to their scheduled appointments. Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment please contact the office as soon as possible, and no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Please see more about our no-show/late policy in our policy form located here.
